Context
BYG is a towing and vehicle transport company in Sibiu, Romania. It provides 24/7 towing in and around Sibiu, flatbed transport nationwide, transport of machinery and utility vehicles, and brings cars bought in eight EU countries to Romania, straight from the seller’s door, and also moves cars the other way, from Romania to the EU. It also works with dealers and fleets.
BYG started as an activity separate from the group’s freight company, so it needed its own online brand from scratch: domain, website and search presence.
The challenge
One website had to serve two completely different kinds of customer.
- The local emergency. Someone stranded on the A1 motorway doesn’t read. They want a phone number and an answer now.
- The planned purchase. Someone buying a car in Germany compares options for days. They have questions about paperwork, registration and transport safety, and trust is earned with answers, not with a button.
A generic “towing services” website would have lost both: too slow for emergencies, too shallow for buyers.
What we did
Analysis and domain
We started from how people in Romania search for these services, both for emergencies in Sibiu and for transporting cars from the EU. The domain and page structure came out of that analysis.
Two architectures in one website
The local pages (Sibiu towing, roadside assistance) are built for speed: phone and WhatsApp are visible immediately, and the towns and roads served are named explicitly, from the villages around Sibiu to Mediaș, along the A1, DN1 and DN7.
The route pages, one for each of the 8 countries, are built for trust. The Germany – Romania page, for example, explains the marketplaces Romanians buy from and the terms used in German listings, and offers a pre-payment checklist, the list of documents to get from the seller, the registration steps in Romania and a dedicated FAQ. The content answers exactly what a buyer looks for before asking for a quote.
Conversion on the right channel
For emergencies: the phone is one tap away on every page, and WhatsApp sits next to the quote form and at the end of each page. For international transport: a quote form with pickup country, cities and vehicle condition, so the request arrives complete in the first message.
Technical
A static website built on Astro from scratch: fast on mobile, with no CMS and no plugins to update. GDPR compliance, cookie and privacy policies, and the consumer-protection links required in Romania.
Where we are now
The website has been live since October 2026. As with any new site, indexing and rankings need a few months. We are measuring from launch and will come back with real results after the first 90 days.
What’s next
- A dedicated Google Business Profile for BYG, separate from the freight brand
- Monitoring rankings for the local and route pages
- A full case study with figures, 90 days after launch
